Chris
Hutchings
Position
1 |
- Selected by the City Council on June 9, 2008, to serve the
remaining term of vacated position.
- Elected to four-year term November 2009. Term expires 12/31/13.
- Serves on the Finance, Public Safety, and Personnel Committees.
- Represents Council on the Tech Committee, joining City Police
Chief Ray Sowers and City Administration/Finance Director Kristy
Powell.
- Chris lives in Montesano with his wife and two daughters.
- City Vision: A nice, diverse, open, and friendly community
that I can age in and my children will say they enjoyed growing
up in.

Howard
Position 2 |
- Elected to a four-year term November 2009.
Term expires 12/31/13.
- Serves on the Forestry, Public Works, and
Parks & Recreation Committees.
- Alternate member of the Finance and Public
Safety Committees.
- Born in Shelton, WA, and has been a Montesano resident for
the past 32 years, where he lives with his wife Tammy.
The Howards have three daughters and three grandchildren residing
in Montesano.
- Occupation: Member of Carpenters Local 317 Employed by Rognlin's
Inc.of Aberdeen since 1999.
- Interests include hunting, fishing, gardening, amateur vintner,
spending time with family.

Pat Herrington
Position 3
Mayor Pro Tem

- First elected to the Council in November,
2005.
- Re-elected November 2009. Term expires
12/31/13.
- 2010 Mayor Pro Tem.
- Serves on the Finance, Parks and Rec, and Personnel Committees.
- Alternate member of the Personnel Committee.
- Represents the City on the Parks Board.
- Serves on the Parks and Recreation, Public Safety, and Model
Traffic Ordinance (MTO) Committees.
- Occupation: Office supervisor for the Washington State Dept.
of Licensing. Has been employed by the State for 34 years.
- Moved to Montesano from Kent, WA in 1999 with wife Kristie
and son, now grown. The Herrington's also have two grown
daughers and two grandsons.
- Born in Spokane, WA and graduated from Mead High School in
1972.
- Interests: Hunting, fishing, working in the yard.
- City Vision: A city where all citizens can enjoy the many
advantages and benefits of small town life.

Doug Streeter
Position

- First elected to the Council in November,
2007. Current term expires 12/31/11.
- Serves on the Economic Development Council
(EDC).
- Serves on the Finance Committee.
- Alternate member of the Public Works Committee.
- Serves as the Legislative Contact for the
Association of Washington Cities ( AWC).
- Occupation: Chief Financial Officer
for the Grays Harbor PUD. Prior to his current position, Doug
served as an Assistant Audit Manager for the Washington State
Auditor's Office.
- Doug was born in Baltimore Maryland, grew
up in Tumwater, and moved to Montesano with his wife Kim in
1998. They have a son Cole, born in 2000, and a daughter
Brooke, born in 2003.
- Favorite activities: Coaching youth soccer
and baseball and playing golf.
- City Vision: I would like to see the City
maintain its status as the jewel of Grays Harbor. I want to
promote responsible growth and economical development while
maintaining our small town feel.

Lyle
Powell
Position

- Lyle Powell was selected by the City Council
at its regular meeting on February 10, 2009, to serve out the
remaining term vacated by Nick Swinhart, who accepted employment
out of state.
- Elected November 2009 to serve the remainder
of the Position 5 term, which expires 12/31/11.
- Serves on the Forestry, Public Works, and Public Safety Committees.
- Alternate member of the Parks and Rec Committee.
- Serves as the City's representative on the Grays Harbor Council
of Governments.
- Originally from Southern California, Lyle worked as a lineman
for Southern Cal Edison before moving to Utah. While living
in Utah he worked as lineman, Foreman, and for the past 15 years
as the Distribution Manager for the local power system.
- For the past 4 years, Lyle has worked as Safety/ Environmental
Coordinator for Grays Harbor PUD.
- Lyle serves on many committees outside of City memberships,
including Washington State Apprentice Training Council (WSATC),
Employers Electrical Communication Safety Committee (EECSC),
and Electrical Utilities Safety Advisory Committee (EUSAC),
PUD representative to the Chamber of Commerce for Montesano
City.
- He and his wife, Kristy live in Montesano with their son
Justin, two dogs, and one cat. They are the parents of five
children and six grandchildren.

2005.
- Re-elected November 2009. Term expires
12/31/13.
- Serves on the Forestry, Public Works, Parks
and Recreation
Committees.
- Alternate member of the Personnel Committee.
- Has lived in the Montesano area for 56
years.
- Employed by the United States Postal Service.
- Married to wife, Peggy, for 34 years.
- Rich and Peggy have two grown sons, both
married with a total of five grand children.

- Serves on the Public Safety and Personnel Committees.

- Represents the Council on the Model Traffic Ordinance (MTO),
joining City Police Chief Ray Sowers, City Public Works Director
Mike Wincewicz, City Asst. Public Works Director Russ Burke,
and engineers Ollivant and Jones.
