DeAnn Knott, Assistant Clerk-Controller
DeAnn Knott is responsible for financial services, including:

  • Payroll
  • Accounts payable
  • Accounts receivable
  • Accounting.

DeAnn’s duties also include the administration of employee benefits, including:
  • Medical and dental insurance
  • Washington State Retirement reporting
  • Payroll taxes.

In addition, DeAnn keeps the records of the city owned Wynooche Cemetery and in conjunction with the Public Works Department coordinates funeral services held at the cemetery.

DeAnn has worked in the City Clerk’s office for the past 28 years.  She earned the designation of Certified Municipal Clerk in 2001.

Kim Morey, Deputy Clerk
Kim began her career with the City of Montesano as Deputy Municipal Court Clerk.  She worked for the Municipal Court for 3 years before transferring to the City of Elma as their Court Administrator.

In 2004, Kim returned to the City of Montesano as Building Permit Tech in the Building Department.  Kim currently works in the City Clerk’s office each morning.  She is responsible for: 

  • Reconciling and preparing the deposit of the previous day’s receivables;
  • Processing the mail and checks received;
  • Managing the City business licenses;
  • Maintaining City records;
  • Providing cashiering and phone service as well.

Each afternoon Kim relocates to the Building Department, where she continues to provide support and assistance to the Building Inspector / Community Development Director. 

Kim has been employed with the City of Montesano for a total of 10 years.  She is currently attending classes to achieve the designation of Certified Municipal Clerk.
