Mission of the Montesano Police Department

Through community partnerships and problem-solving, it is our mission to take a unified stance against crime, violence, disorder, and disregard for the law.  We are committed to crime prevention and intervention activities.  In cooperation with citizens, civic and business leaders, public and private agencies, churches, medical providers, and schools, we will help build a stronger, more self-sufficient community - a community in which crime and disorder will not thrive.

About the Montesano Police Department

The Montesano Police Department consists of the chief of police, one Deputy Chief, six patrol officers, and explorer and reserve officer post, a parking enforcement officer, and two police clerks.  the patrol officers and police clerks are union-represented, civil service-tested positions.

Our department is committed to community-oriented policing, which we implement with programs such as crime prevention, bike patrol, a high school "introduction to law enforcement" class, and community safety classes.

The Montesano Police Department remains on the leading edge of technology and is committed to keeping its officers up-to-date with the most current equipment and training.  All officers are issued take-home patrol cars if they live in or near Montesano.
